We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems.

About the Role

You will be working in a school setting, providing 1:1 support to children and young people who require additional support due to various reasons, including:

  • Children in Looked After Care
  • Anxiety
  • Exclusion
  • Speech and language difficulties
  • Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
  • Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
  • Confidence to make decisions
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students
  • Empathy and understanding
  • Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development
