Role Overview:
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication regarding daily procurement activities.
- Collaborate with the broader team when making purchasing decisions to align with the organization's strategic goals.
- Engage with customers as necessary during supply chain decision-making.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Procurement Manager.
- Monitor daily demand reports to ensure all requirements are captured and orders are placed in accordance with minimum order quantities and lead times.
- Update and establish safety stock levels based on current and forecasted demand to ensure supply continuity.
- Work with the team to address supplier rejects, facilitating problem-solving and corrective actions for quality concerns.
- Negotiate with current and potential suppliers to achieve cost reductions.
- Challenge and defer cost increases from suppliers through effective negotiation.
- Identify strategies to enhance purchasing power with selected suppliers, resulting in favorable terms and potential cost savings.
- Ensure payment terms align with or exceed company standards with all suppliers.
- Negotiate discounted terms and rebate agreements to secure advantageous conditions for the business.
- Manage expenditure to minimize stock levels, including obsolescence.
- Diligently oversee purchase price variance with the commercial team to ensure pricing changes are communicated effectively.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain productive working relationships.
- Participate in training and team-building activities to promote cross-functional collaboration.
- Support project work as required.
- Manage suppliers in accordance with promised delivery dates aligned with procurement objectives.
- Work with suppliers to negotiate lead time reductions through service level agreements and blanket orders.
