The Estates Department is currently expanding its team to collaborate with and support the Estates Operational Teams in the daily operational upkeep of the Health Board's estate.
We are in search of skilled and motivated engineering professionals to assist in maintaining the continuous service delivery of one of the largest Health Boards in Wales.
This department is undergoing a transformative phase aimed at enhancing service quality and improving patient experiences, ensuring we are prepared for future challenges.
We seek an individual who is committed to delivering a safe, organized, and highly effective service. The ideal candidate will possess innovative thinking and the ability to make independent decisions, contributing to the ongoing improvements within the department.
Proficiency in Welsh is advantageous for this role; we welcome applications from both Welsh and English speakers.
Key Responsibilities
Engage in complex and non-routine tasks, including calibration and troubleshooting of various engineering systems and equipment, such as:
- Hot and Cold Water Systems
- Low Pressure Hot Water Systems
- Steam Raising Equipment and associated apparatus
- Steam Sterilizers
- Medical Gas Pipeline Systems
- Ventilation Systems
- Electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, building control & automation
- Standby generator systems
- Security access control systems
- Nurse call systems & data communications
Conduct planned maintenance, reactive repairs, minor enhancements, and assist other trades as directed by management, ensuring adherence to Health Board safety standards and protocols at all times.
Provide multi-disciplinary engineering expertise across various electrical and mechanical systems and infrastructure.

Job Duties

Prepare both verbal and written reports for Team Leaders and M&E Managers.

Conduct work discreetly, ensuring that clinical and departmental staff are informed of any potential disruptions or noise to minimize patient distress.
Liaise effectively with external suppliers and contractors, addressing technical inquiries and providing necessary information.
