Job Title: Band 7 Specialist Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Specialist Speech Therapist to join our Neurological Rehabilitation Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessments and treatments for patients with physical, cognitive, communication, and behavioural challenges caused by neurological injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct specialist SLT assessments and treatments for patients with neurological injuries.
  • Develop evidence-based therapy programmes, emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
  • Act as Named Therapist to ensure cohesive goal-setting, therapy coordination, and discharge planning.
  • Provide formal supervision to less experienced SLTs and/or assistants as required.
  • Play an active role in the induction and training of other interdisciplinary team (IDT) members.
  • Contribute to the implementation and review of SLT-related policies and service development initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Experience in formal supervision and line management.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance required.
