Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Guildford. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural design solutions for a wide range of projects, including permanent and temporary works, commercial buildings, residential complexes, bridges, and industrial structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical documentation, contract documents, and fee estimates
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines, including civil and geotechnical
  • Communicate effectively with clients and senior staff
  • Manage a challenging workload and provide technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers

Requirements

  • Degree in civil or structural engineering
  • 5-7 years' experience in structural design engineering
  • Working towards or is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or equivalent
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in delivering detailed design engineering solutions, drawings, and specifications for structural engineering projects in the UK
  • Excellent understanding of structural behavior and detailed knowledge of current codes and standards, including Eurocodes
  • Team player with a mature approach and first-class interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the structural components of a building and other structures
