About the Role

The City Football Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1st Team Assistant Coach to join our elite coaching team. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the environment and development of our athletes, allowing them to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document comprehensive and challenging training plans focused on delivering the City Football Group's playing style and game model, in collaboration with the coaching staff and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Deliver engaging and dynamic training sessions that challenge the team, unit, and individual players to develop and master position-specific concepts of the game model.
  • Work in collaboration with the performance analysts to plan, deliver, and review innovative set piece practices that drive maximum game impact.
  • Support the technical and tactical development of the team, alongside the specific playing units and individual players, in line with Individual Development Plans (IPDs).
  • Contribute to our talent identification programme, assisting in the observation of players during training sessions, matches, and competitive events.
  • Collaborate with academy staff to identify and nurture high-potential talent, providing opportunities for advancement and progression from within the academy pathway into the 1st Team.

Requirements

  • UEFA A licence.
  • Experience of working as an elite-level coach within professional football.
  • Sound understanding of the City Football Group's playing style and game model.
  • Proven experience planning, delivering, and reviewing comprehensive and challenging training programmes in an elite football environment.
  • Proven experience inspiring and motivating athletes to perform at their best.
  • Able to work quickly and calmly under pressure, adapting to rapidly changing demands and environments.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with players, staff, agents, and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex strategies with clarity and simplicity.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within sophisticated football technical programmes.
  • Possesses the drive to be the best in their field.
  • Open and honest, with the ability to give and receive feedback in an appropriate manner to all stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within the women's professional game.
