Exciting Opportunity for a Principal Town Planner

Wardell Armstrong, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Town Planner to join their team in Birmingham. As a key member of the Planning and Environment Team, you will be responsible for shaping and assessing development projects, including major infrastructure, waste, and energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement planning strategies for large-scale projects
  • Prepare planning applications and appeals, including site appraisals and community consultation
  • Lead technical teams and coordinate project management
  • Provide expert advice on planning and land use to clients and local authorities
  • Supervise and mentor team members

Requirements:

  • Chartered Town Planner with a good Town Planning degree or related qualification
  • Experience in preparing planning applications for the public and/or private sector
  • Excellent analytical and written skills, with strong team working ethic
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office, Excel, and GIS
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, with ability to manage time and workload
