Job Title: Legal Advisor

Homes England is a national organisation with a real social purpose, working in partnership with the private sector to increase the delivery of new homes.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Advisor to join our team. As a Legal Advisor, you will be working in a team with the Head of Legal - Investment and another senior solicitor to develop your career, grow your expertise and undertake professional development with roles and projects that will put you at the heart of the housing sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a proactive, professional legal service to Homes England in relation to a mixed caseload of transactional and governance advice.
  • Support SME developers and new entrants with development finance, and infrastructure finance of loans up to £250m to support developers, master developers and landowners in unlocking strategic housing sites.
  • Advise on joint venture and equity arrangements, risk and mitigation strategies to maximise investment recovery.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support projects.
Requirements
  • Substantial legal experience advising on Corporate, Corporate Finance and/or commercial law, including banking, restructuring and company law.
  • Real energy, high motivation and ability to work and succeed in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, collaboration and commercial awareness.
  • Strong intellectual and analytical skills.
  • A positive attitude when faced with transaction-based challenges and problem solving.
