Band Care Support Assistant in the Children's Emergency Services

The Children's Emergency Services at Oxford University Hospitals is seeking dedicated Care Support Assistants.

We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative environment among our skilled professionals, delivering exceptional care to our most vulnerable patients during critical moments for them and their families.

We are eager to welcome Care Support Assistants who demonstrate motivation and a proactive approach. Previous experience in a healthcare setting or with children is crucial. We provide a nurturing atmosphere with a strong emphasis on professional growth and advancement through the Care Certificate.

Flexible working arrangements are available, including long shifts, night shifts, weekdays, and weekends. We can accommodate a flexible work schedule with predetermined shifts. Candidates should be ready to discuss any specific needs or planned time off during the interview process.

Main Responsibilities

The primary aim of this role includes:

  • Supporting qualified personnel in executing patient care plans
  • Progressing towards assisting registered nurses in the organization of patient care
  • Performing various patient care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Documenting patient care activities as directed by the registered nurse
  • Overseeing and maintaining the equipment and environment of the unit, under the guidance of a registered nurse
  • Collaborating with registered nurses to mentor junior staff members
