Borough of Swale, United Kingdom Kent County Council Full time
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled social worker to join our Integrated Adolescent Service in Kent County Council. As an Adolescent Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing intensive social work support to adolescents and their families to manage complex situations, including extra-familial harm and family conflict.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building trust with hard-to-reach young people and empowering them and their families to develop effective long-term solutions to manage their family relationships and develop strategies to overcome the risks that adolescents face during this phase of their life.
  • Working across the areas of assessment, children in need, child protection, contextual harm, Court work, and rehabilitation home.
  • Providing management support to colleagues and acting on the Team Manager's behalf in their absence.
  • Contribute to working groups and multi-agency forums to develop new initiatives.
About You

We are looking for a qualified social worker with a degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England. You will have proven experience of working with children and families, an interest in working with children who have experienced adverse life events or trauma, and an in-depth understanding of Children's social work legislation.

You will have excellent opportunities for professional development, managing a varied caseload, and working with adolescents and their families. We will support you to consolidate your skills and knowledge, assisting you to develop areas of specialist practice, including trauma-informed practice and contextual safeguarding.

What We Offer

We offer a generous retention package, up to £3,000 per annum, after a qualifying period, a car allowance of £2,000 per annum, and a relocation package and golden hello payment worth up to £11,000 in specific circumstances. You will also receive a salary in the range of £43,810 - £49,989, dependent on skills and experience.

We are committed to putting in place personalised development plans with our workers to enable them to feel valued and supported in their career development. We have invested heavily in our core offer to staff, including evidenced-based training in case formulation, contextual safeguarding, and trauma-informed approaches.
