Long Haul Travel Specialist

A fantastic opportunity to join a successful, award-winning tour operator as a Long Haul Travel Specialist with a focus on India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating bespoke, extraordinary experiences to India for our discerning clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to calls and emails from trade partners and direct customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain rates and source product for bespoke tailor-made enquiries.
  • Utilize your specialist long haul knowledge of India to support conversion of enquiries into sales.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales and customer service journey, ensuring customers are notified of any operational changes affecting their holiday.
  • Handle any issues arising in an efficient and customer-focused way, ensuring a satisfactory outcome.
  • Provide an exceptional service to all customers via all channels.
  • Support the product team with input and feedback on product knowledge, pricing information, and competitor analysis.
Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in a travel tailor-made sales role, with a background in tour operations.
  • Strong knowledge of India is essential, either through personal travel or experience in creating bespoke itineraries.
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good knowledge of supplier contracts and costing itineraries.
  • Working knowledge of a travel GDS, such as Amadeus or Galileo.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible approach, with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
What We Offer:
  • Basic salary of £25k to £29k, plus monthly commission.
  • 9 to 5.30 Monday to Saturdays, with Saturdays on a rota.
