We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate Vicar to join our team at The Ascension and St Thomas' in the benefice of Derringham Bank, Hull. As a key member of our clergy team, you will play a vital role in helping us discover God's vision for our community and live out Christ's story in our midst.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Vicar and PCCs to set a vision for the parishes and lead the churches effectively in its implementation.
  • Cherish diversity in worship, embracing the breadth of worship within the churches and making provision for the needs of all ages.
  • Lead the churches in evangelism and outreach, developing a strategy to reach those we currently don't.
  • Teach the Bible with application, nurturing church members in their discipleship and growing disciples.
  • Develop pastoral care across the parishes, having an understanding and appreciation of the context.
  • Deepen the life of the churches, identifying how resources and gifts can be shared.
  • Work with other denominations within the parishes and contribute actively to the life of the deanery.
Requirements:
  • Envision us for church planting and revitalization, enabling and equipping us to reach families and younger generations.
  • Line manage our Youth and Community Pioneer as they set up a Youth and Community Centre.
  • Help us to reach those we currently do not, teaching the Bible well and making a priority of growing disciples.
  • Embrace the variety of worship across our churches and diverse community, and collaborative ministry.
