Job Summary

Higgidy is seeking a highly skilled Food Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the business is fully compliant with all matters relating to Food Safety, Quality, and Legality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain our Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and quality regulations.
  • Oversee the management of all relevant reports, customer responses, and trending information around complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Manage external certifications, including preparation, monitoring, and review of associated documentation, to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Produce Gap Analysis summaries to ensure any relevant changes to customer codes of practice are raised.
  • Encourage best practice within the team and in a wider capacity within the bakery environment.
  • Actively engage others to ensure systems and procedures are relevant and fully understood.
  • Help others to understand the reasons behind change and relate change to what matters most to them.
  • Maintain a calm and professional approach, painting a picture of the future and explaining the steps needed to get there.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a food manufacturing environment.
  • An excellent standard of both verbal and written English.
  • Proficient with using Microsoft office packages.
  • Experience and understanding of third-party audit requirements, including BRCGS and major retailers.
  • Experience and knowledge of HACCP level 3 (level 4 desirable).
  • Level 3 Food Safety Qualification (Level 4 desirable).
  • Understanding of customer and supplier management.
  • Experience of interpreting or working with relevant legislation (labelling, Food Safety, etc).
  • Auditing qualification/experience.
