Building Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our team at Howells Solutions Limited. The successful candidate will be working on a planned maintenance contract for a leading social housing provider in North London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect buildings to identify defects and recommend repairs
  • Assist senior surveyors in managing property portfolios and transactions
  • Prepare technical due diligence reports and building pathology surveys
  • Monitor construction work and the performance of project design teams
  • Produce reports to clients and engage in face-to-face communication
  • Travel to appointments around the UK, primarily in London and the South East
  • Manage contracts from start to finish, including dealing with Party Wall matters, Dilapidations, and Defect diagnosis
  • Have good knowledge of current Building Regulations

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and professional individual with specialist skills in building surveying, project management, and budgetary control
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage technical and complex projects from start to finish
  • Good knowledge of current Building Regulations
  • Must have own car
