JOB TITLE: Maintenance Joiner / Carpenter
COMPANY: ABM UK
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday – Friday, with alternating early and late shifts. Typical hours include 06:00 - 14:30 & 12:30 – 21:00, plus one weekend in three with compensatory time off.
SALARY: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The role involves executing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and addressing reactive maintenance issues throughout the facility. The successful candidate will be tasked with fabric repairs and basic facility-related duties, with opportunities for training. Collaboration within a maintenance team is essential, as well as providing support to fellow team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting PPM duties such as meter readings and L8 water checks.
- Performing inspections of pathways and car parks.
- Carrying out general facility repairs.
- Adjusting and replacing wooden fire doors.
- Completing various joinery tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with prior experience in a facilities maintenance environment.
- NVQ qualification in Joinery or Carpentry.
- Strong practical skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Familiarity with a retail environment.
- Capability to manage a diverse workload.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Woodworking expertise.
- Basic plumbing knowledge.
