The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Fee Earners in a dynamic, open-plan workspace. This position entails managing litigated motor cases for a diverse array of insurance clients. The successful applicant will handle a combination of personal injury, credit hire, and counter fraud cases, taking ownership of their own caseload while supporting senior Fee Earners in various fee-earning tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will encompass:

  • Managing a personal caseload of pre-litigation and post-litigation motor defense files.
  • Ensuring compliance with court deadlines and effectively managing files according to court schedules.
  • Engaging and instructing expert witnesses.
  • Collaborating with Counsel for case preparation.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of medical documentation.
  • Communicating with clients, insurers, and third-party entities.
  • Interacting with policyholders and witnesses to gather necessary information.
  • Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Drafting legal pleadings and court documents.
  • Assisting fellow Fee Earners with their caseloads as needed.
  • Performing additional tasks as required to efficiently manage caseloads.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing pre-litigation and post-litigation files for insurance clients.
  • Background in defending cases related to credit hire, personal injury, and counter fraud.
  • Competence in drafting court documents and familiarity with legal processes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure, with effective delegation skills when necessary.
  • Attention to detail, particularly when handling repetitive tasks.
  • Analytical skills for evaluating evidence.
  • Team-oriented mindset with self-assurance.
  • Proficient literacy and IT skills.
