Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen team in providing high-quality food services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation, cooking, and portion control to ensure that meals are served to a high standard.
  • Support the kitchen supervisor in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Prepare the dining area for service, ensuring that it is clean and welcoming for customers.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide excellent customer service and ensure that customers have a positive experience.
  • Support the team in achieving our goals and objectives, including maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or a passion for working in a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with colleagues and customers.
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
