About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant or Associate Director to join our Disputes Team at DGA (UK). As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from quantum and delay claims to contractual and commercial advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the team or work independently on quantification of claims for costs and damages, providing clearly presented advice and written reports in support of findings.
- Prepare contractual and commercial advice, claims, expert reports, and submissions for Adjudication.
- Engage in business development, securing commissions for yourself and others in the Disputes Team.
- Manage workload independently and provide support to the Disputes Team.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience of commercial management duties on construction projects at all stages of development.
- Site-based experience as sub-contractor, contractor, consultant, or client.
- Knowledge of claims preparation and assessment, and a keen interest in contractual and legal matters.
- Experience of assisting an Expert or appointment as an Expert in Adjudication and/or Litigation.
- First-class written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, self-driven, determined, and thorough in approach.
- Capable of carrying out independent study, analysis, and interpretation, then presenting conclusions clearly and concisely.
- Good working knowledge of data management and formulas in MS Excel.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management (essential).
- Degree in Law or postgraduate in Construction Law (preferred).
- Professionally qualified: RICS, CIArb, or similar.
