Job Title: Workshop Assistant

As a key member of our team at Sedgbeer Processing Careers, you will play a vital role in supporting our Stainless steel workshop manager and our small team based in the village of Wanstow, Somerset.

This is a 6-month contract, with an immediate start. There is the possibility that this term could be extended or become a full-time permanent position.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with fabrication and assembly tasks, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, including goods in and out, to ensure efficient workflow and minimize waste.
  • Participate in on-site installation work, which may involve staying overnight, and work alongside other team members to complete tasks safely and effectively.
  • Operate machinery and tools with precision, safety, and under supervision, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and company policies.
  • During busy periods, assist with picking and packing customer orders ready for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain spares on the shelf, ensuring easy access and minimizing downtime.

What We're Looking For:

  • A keen eye for detail and enthusiasm for working with Stainless steel.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to take on a variety of tasks and learn new skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to travel to visit customers and undertake installation work.
  • Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating materials.
