Assistant Underwriter, Financial Institutions Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the market leading Financial Institutions team in London as an Underwriter, contributing to the continued success of AXIS Global Markets division.
Key Responsibilities- Review and evaluate new and renewal business based on company underwriting guidelines, competition, and geographic focus.
- Analyse and underwrite individual risks, developing appropriate limit structures, retentions, pricing, and endorsements.
- Assist in the management of the portfolio of business, including new lines, renewals, and cross-marketing of product lines within the department.
- Meet divisional servicing objectives, including quote turnaround, policy issuance, file maintenance, and documentation.
- Perform required marketing through regular broker visits, soliciting new accounts, gathering market intelligence, and providing up-to-date department information.
- Develop and update product and underwriting knowledge, maintaining familiarity with economic and legal factors affecting the department's lines of business and the insurance industry.
We're looking for a team player with a strong background in Professional Lines, ideally with 1-3 years of experience in the London and/or International markets. You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build new and existing broker relationships.
