Job Summary
Orion Group is seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and oversight to ensure the successful delivery of electrical and instrumentation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project teams in identifying interests and drivers on projects
- Provide technical engineering and controls support to project teams
- Oversight of project EPC contractors to ensure designs comply with site standards
- Active participation in HAZOP, HAZIDs, design reviews, and other safety reviews
- Ensure CAPEX projects are suitably scoped with regards to E+I activity
- Liaise with Electrical and Instrument Technical Authorities to ensure E+I proposals align with site requirements
- Manage Functional Safety compliance on CAPEX projects
- Ensure new E&I equipment installed is assessed for safety, health, environmental, and quality impact
- Ensure IS calculations and loop drawings are updated for all CAPEX projects
- Ensure qualification and quality obligations are met for all project E & I activity
Requirements
- Candidates will hold a minimum degree in a relevant discipline
- Hold substantial E&I engineering experience supporting planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of improvements and modifications
- Involvement in projects from feasibility to handover
- Member of a professional body preferable
- 5+ years of industry experience within a process safety sector is desirable
- Willingness to travel as required and attend FATs
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude with a commercial mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
