About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at North Hertfordshire College. As a key member of our education sector, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality and compliance of our training programs across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Develop and implement comprehensive internal quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure that our training programs meet the requirements of awarding bodies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Assessment and Verification: Oversee the internal verification and moderation processes to ensure fair, accurate, and reliable assessment outcomes, and manage a team of internal verifiers to ensure their continued professional development.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to assessors, trainers, and staff on quality assurance processes and best practices, and identify areas for staff development and coordinate appropriate training to enhance delivery quality.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Develop and maintain robust systems for tracking learner progress, assessment outcomes, and quality assurance activities, and produce regular reports on quality assurance findings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including awarding and end-point assessment organisations, employers, and learners, to ensure high-quality training provision and foster positive relationships and effective communication.
Requirements
  • A recognised qualification in quality assurance (e.g., TAQA, IQA Level 4, V1).
  • Significant experience in quality assurance within the education sector, specifically in apprenticeships and adult education.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for apprenticeship and adult education programs.
  • Proven track record of managing quality assurance processes and leading a team.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Teaching or training qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 3 Award in Education and Training).
  • Experience with digital learning platforms.
  • Strong understanding of learner needs and the ability to develop strategies to support diverse learning experiences.
