Senior Planner Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our team at ITS (Southampton) Ltd. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for managing the submission of planning applications to Local Planning Authorities.
Key Responsibilities:- Compile Planning applications, conditions, and appeal documentation for submission to Local Planning Authorities.
- Submit and manage successful planning applications.
- Organise and maintain office work systems, ensuring that computer records are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of Local Planning Authorities' Planning policies and Local Plan Reviews for internal reference.
- Monitor and review local planning policy, including strategies that take account of transport, the local economy, jobs, green infrastructure, renewable energy, climate change, and the historic environment.
- Conduct research to inform planning applications.
- Negotiate with external engineers and other consultants, and assist in the evaluation of their use by the Group.
- Assist in the production of Planning Sketch Schemes through liaison with architects.
- Collate and maintain evidence from public consultation meetings where the planning process requires it.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers and external suppliers.
- Attend Planning Committee Meetings, Rights of Way Panels, and Public Consultation Meetings to represent the Group as requested by the Director of Regeneration.
- Liaise with the planning and development teams to understand all necessary aspects and needs for operational development.
- Report directly to the Director of Regeneration, providing timely and accurate reporting as requested.
- Planning, Surveying, or Architecture Degree or equivalent experience.
- RTPI, RIBA, or RICS qualifications.
- At least 2 years' experience in Planning, ideally within a construction background or house building company.
- Experience of addressing the general public, council officers, and committee members in a public forum.
- Experience of planning processes and regulations in relation to planning approval.
- Excellent Administration experience.
- Commercial Awareness.
- Ability to problem-solve and resolve issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills - both oral and written.
Opportunities to progress within the Land and Planning team. A range of rate of pay is quoted, with the level of experience, qualifications, and related training required being the minimum required to qualify for the lowest rate of pay quoted.
