Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and eager apprentice to become a part of our Communications Team, operating within the Deputy Chief Executive directorate. This role combines practical training with the opportunity to earn a Level 3 qualification in Multi-Channel Marketing.
As one of the prominent employers in the region, you will acquire a diverse skill set that includes planning, content development (such as video and podcast production), copywriting, assessment, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience in campaign execution and event coordination, paving the way for a successful career in communications and engagement.

We are a vibrant and innovative corporate communications and engagement team dedicated to delivering professional communications guidance and support to both internal and external stakeholders. Our approach encompasses various disciplines, including public relations, media relations, social media, campaigns, and internal communications.
Role Responsibilities
In this position, you will report to the Strategic Internal Communications Lead and contribute to the various functions of the communications team while pursuing your Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship. We will ensure you receive the necessary support and dedicated time during your workweek for studies and assessments, eliminating the need for evening or weekend commitments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the communications team in the planning and execution of communication strategies and campaigns, including research, development, and implementation of innovative ideas and solutions.
- Aiding in the evaluation and reporting of communication initiatives, utilizing various tools and methodologies to measure and demonstrate their impact and effectiveness.
- Producing high-quality written, visual, and audio content for multiple communication channels, ensuring creativity, accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and alignment with the council's branding and tone.
- Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Providing administrative support as needed.
Work Environment
As a flexible worker, you will need to connect to our network to access digital resources, which can be done from home or an office location as required. You will be expected to work from the office a few times a week, depending on your role and team needs.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must possess a Level 2 qualification or higher in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE grades A* - C/9-4 or equivalent), or a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship Qualification.
Important Note:
Individuals with a degree in the same field as this apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications will not be eligible for this position.
