Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to enhance our commercial operations and facilitate project execution for our utility client specializing in water supply and treatment.

Location: Leeds
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 Hours
Employment Type: Permanent / Full Time
- Ensure timely submission of account applications.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations for contracts.
- Generate monthly Work In Progress reports.
- Forecast final costs against anticipated recovery.
- Lead pricing strategies for project works, ensuring comprehensive submissions to clients.
- Maintain close collaboration with client commercial teams.
- Manage payments for subcontractor accounts as necessary.
- Draft and issue subcontract documentation.
- Establish and maintain RFI/COI schedules in coordination with Contract Managers.
- Report on financial gains/losses and identify potential financial challenges.
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors.
- Participate in progress and commercial meetings, representing the company effectively.
- Prepare and update cash flow and expenditure profiles.
- Oversee contract WIP reduction, sales revenue, and profit objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Contract teams to ensure optimal contract delivery while managing costs and procurement.
- Work alongside the billing manager to enhance cost reporting and invoicing processes.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, particularly with minor works contracts.
- Strong understanding of the market dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience managing profit and loss accounts and adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Demonstrated project management success.
- Proficient in drafting and reviewing documentation.
- Exceptional negotiation capabilities.
- Proficient in IT applications, including MS Word and Excel.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial and contractual matters related to Facilities Management and NEC 4.
Desirable Qualifications
- Third Level Qualification.
- Experience in the blue light and educational sectors.
- Familiarity with open book accounting contracts.
