Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our SEMH team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs, both academically and emotionally, and help them overcome challenges in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities and interventions, promoting student progress and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional growth.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to ongoing assessments and reviews.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people facing challenges.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of our students and school community.
