Job Title: Business Support Finance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Finance Officer to join our team at Crooton. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the departmental e-procurement processes, ensuring compliance with financial instructions and acting as the single point of contact for departmental queries.
  • Prepare documentation for mutual aid and external charging opportunities, ensuring accurate recording and recovery of costs and income.
  • Manage the BSU petty cash and oversee the process in other teams, carrying out credit card purchases and managing transactions.
  • Use the CARM duty management system to highlight and resolve overtime issues, taking into consideration Police Regulations, the Police Staff Handbook, and general HR policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on overtime and associated entitlements, providing training and support to CARM users and management.
  • Represent the CARM practitioners group, tri-force overtime, and systems meetings, assisting in the development of the CARM system.
  • Design and provide accurate and timely reporting on Local Policing overtime, allowing the Constabulary to make informed decisions regarding overtime expenditure.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, a finance qualification, or 3 years relevant experience in a finance administration-based role.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and M365.
  • Experience exporting data and presenting it in a useful format.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations to senior managers.
  • Understanding of budgets and associated processes.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and effectively communicate with team members.
