Repairs/Maintenance Surveyor Opportunity

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Repairs/Maintenance Surveyor to join their team in West Yorkshire. As a key member of the team, you will provide a professional and reliable service by delivering a technical surveying service, ensuring the organization delivers high performance, value for money, compliance targets, and provides decent and energy-efficient homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Clear Instructions and Supervision: Lead in-house maintenance operatives and ensure they have the necessary guidance to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Raise Works Orders: Create and manage works orders for both in-house staff and external contractors, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Produce Accurate Reports: Utilize Office applications and bespoke software to create detailed and concise reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Inspect Properties and Diagnose Defects: Conduct thorough property inspections, identify building defects, and create specifications for necessary repairs.
  • Provide Accurate Estimates: Develop and present accurate estimates for building works, taking into account materials, labor, and other costs.
  • Demonstrate Health and Safety Knowledge: Ensure a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety regulations, applying them to all aspects of the role.
Requirements:
  • HNC Qualification: Possess a Higher National Certificate in Building or Construction or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in property inspection, maintenance contracting, and front-line working with contractors.
  • Surveying Experience: Demonstrated experience in planned and reactive surveying works within a housing association.
  • Microsoft Excel Ability: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets.
  • Driving License: Hold a valid driving license, essential for the role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
