Parish Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Parish Clerk. This is a part-time position working up to 30 hours per month from home, with a laptop provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Parish Council operates within its powers, requiring good communication, organizational, and administrative skills. A good standard of computer literacy is essential, and a minimum GCSE pass in Mathematics and English is required.

Previous experience working in or knowledge of local government is ideal, although training can be provided. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake ongoing development training and be prepared to study for the Certificate in Local Councils Administration, if not already held.

The salary is based on the National Association of Local Councils scales, with a starting salary range of £13.73 per hour (National pay award pending). Pro-rata annual leave and pension options are included.
