Loom Talent is collaborating with a prominent logistics firm in search of a proficient and innovative Head of Transport to manage their fleet operations. This role presents a remarkable opportunity for an accomplished transport expert to lead and enhance a fleet comprising around 60 vehicles while supervising a committed team of professionals.

Role Overview: In the capacity of Head of Transport, you will be accountable for the effective management and operation of a varied fleet. Your responsibilities will include overseeing daily functions, ensuring compliance, safety, and optimal performance. Furthermore, you will cultivate relationships with sub-contracted vehicle providers and guide a team of 6 direct reports, promoting both efficiency and excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Oversight: Manage the daily operations of a 60-vehicle fleet, ensuring maintenance, performance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Leadership: Inspire and mentor a team of 6 direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work culture.
  • Sub-Contractor Management: Oversee relationships with sub-contracted vehicle providers to guarantee compliance with standards and service expectations.
  • Operational Strategy: Formulate and execute strategies to boost operational efficiency, minimize costs, and enhance service delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transport activities align with industry regulations and company policies, emphasizing health and safety.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the transport budget, tracking expenses and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Client Relations: Maintain robust relationships with clients, addressing any concerns promptly and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports on fleet performance, financial metrics, and operational enhancements for senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a transport management role, preferably with a similar fleet size.
  • International CPC - ESSENTIAL
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in managing sub-contracted vehicles and third-party service providers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in transport management software and tools.
