Ecologist Job in Liverpool

Hunter Dunning Limited is seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our multidisciplinary consultancy group in Liverpool. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in our ecology and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects across the mid- and Northern regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the wider group with ecology and BNG assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct site and client visits across the region, gathering data and information to inform our ecological surveys and assessments.
  • Carry out BNG option assessments for planning applications and biodiversity gain plans, working closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
  • Coordinate external freelancers and contractors for ecological surveys, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Produce high-quality reports and assist with planning submissions, communicating complex ecological information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support the growth of our ecology department as the business expands, contributing to the development of new services and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in ecology, EIA, BNG, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of BNG principles and practices, including impact assessments and offsetting schemes.
  • Strong ecological survey experience, with the ability to collect and analyze data in a variety of contexts.
  • Full driving license and access to a car, with the ability to travel across the region as required.
  • Consultancy experience is highly desirable, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services to clients.
