Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Halfords. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our management teams and providing robust process control around balance sheet reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely month-end balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts, identifying and resolving reconciling items, particularly payroll and cash & banking.
- Collaborate with the Group Financial Reporting Manager to determine and action the appropriate resolution for any areas of concern.
- Conduct analytical reviews of balance sheet items to ensure variances against budget, prior year, and prior month are understood, documented, and corrective actions identified.
- Provide clear commentary on these items for monthly review packs to assist the Financial reporting and FP&A team.
- Assist with month-end journal preparation and posting, as well as liaising with other team members and the shared service center.
- Ensure compliance with applicable SOX narratives and assist with audit queries and preparation of required audit analysis both internal and external.
Requirements
- Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA/AAT, or QBE.
- Experience working in a large complex business, preferably in a Shared Services environment.
- Proficient in managing large data sets and experience with Excel.
- Knowledge of relevant IFRS's and fundamental accounting principles.
- Ability to manage own workload, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
