Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Orion Group. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cost and budget planning strategies through the RIBA lifecycle, ensuring compliance with project briefs, timescales, and budget estimates.
  • Collate and review NEC forms of contract and other commercial documents for procurement, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Design and implement contract cost models and performance management approaches, ensuring alignment with project requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead the commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders, assessing and validating tenderers' proposals to ensure value for money and quality standards.
  • Capture, record, and utilize cost data for future procurements, reporting into the Estimating Benchmarking database.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks during the procurement phase, ensuring a sound contract for contract award.
  • Maintain and promote high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
Requirements:
  • Complex major construction experience.
  • Knowledge of public contract regulations and experience working within Defence, Nuclear, Utilities, or related infrastructure environments.
  • Chartered or working towards MRICS or other related qualification.
  • Cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle.
  • Ability to design contractor performance management and incentivisation approaches.
  • Experience in commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders to assess and deliver value for money.
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities and mitigate risks during the procurement phase.
