About the Role:

Shire Healthcare is working with a reputable and leading provider of specialist care and education to recruit a HCPC registered Psychologist to be based in central Lancashire.

About the Employer:

This employer is an independent leading provider of specialist care and education, working with children and young people in either an educational and/or residential setting who present a complexity of needs, including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions, autism, ADHD, and special educational needs.

Role Snapshot:

The candidate appointed will join a multidisciplinary team and conduct clinical assessments and provide specialist and evidence-based psychological interventions in either a 1:1 or group setting to pupils and residents (9-18 years old). This role will be based across specialist schools, children's homes, and integrated provisions. This specific role is based within a school that is Ofsted rated as Good provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical assessments and provide specialist and evidence-based psychological interventions in either a 1:1 or group setting to pupils and residents (9-18 years old)
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to children and young people with complex needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each child or young person
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, social workers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to care and support

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, or Educational Psychologist
  • Previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs, such as ASD, autism, neuro, and/or trauma
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and professionals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the service
