About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our established team at Little Brook Hospital, Dartford. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a national initiative that emphasizes the crucial role of OTs in delivering effective interventions within community mental health services.
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will work directly with service users in their homes and communities, providing holistic and person-centered occupational therapy assessments and interventions. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, contributing to the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide short-term psychosocial interventions for individuals in crisis who would benefit from immediate support.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of training programs for students and staff within the team.
- Deliver specialist/professional training packages and in-service training to enhance staff development.
- Provide effective supervision, guidance, and support to support workers and peer workers assigned to your caseload.
- Develop and implement individual care plans for a designated caseload of service users with occupational needs.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and evidence-based interventions in all aspects of your work.
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A recognized OT professional qualification.
- Registration with the HCPC.
- Two or more years of post-qualified experience within a home treatment team setting.
- Experience in managing a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs, utilizing evidence-based practice, user-centered approaches, and relapse prevention strategies.
