The Data, Assurance and Support Division aims to enhance transparency regarding the delivery of social care services at the local level and to foster quality improvements through various policy interventions. This includes our ambitious initiative to revolutionize adult social care data, introducing new assessments of local authorities by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and reinforcing oversight of local authorities and care providers in their service delivery. You will play a crucial role in supporting the division's efforts to identify the necessary frameworks for achieving positive outcomes for individuals relying on care and support, utilizing intelligence and data to evaluate current service delivery, and collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to contribute to broader activities that facilitate the implementation of social care reforms.

Role Responsibilities

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to join teams spearheading significant programs within adult social care. Responsibilities will include:

  • Local Authority and Provider Assurance: Overseeing critical CQC assessment activities across care providers and local authorities, establishing vital connections with key policy areas to drive improvements and elevate standards.
  • Data Strategy for Adult Social Care: Supporting the execution of policies and projects within the department's data transformation initiative, ensuring cohesive delivery aligned with the strategic direction of health and adult social care data.
  • Financial Management: Leading the division's financial oversight, collaborating with colleagues to ensure robust financial forecasts and processes are maintained.

You will receive comprehensive training and support aligned with your responsibilities.

Key Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex issues clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Adept at utilizing data and evidence to inform policy development across various domains.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize effectively to meet key commitments.

Desirable:

  • Experience in project management within a policy context.
  • Familiarity with the social care sector.
