About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEND in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials to meet students' needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support as required.
  • Promote positive behavior and support students in managing their emotions and behavior.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEND.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEND education is desirable.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
