Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join our team at our Energy from Waste Plant in Bridgwater. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of all electrical apparatus, including High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, instrumentation, and DCS at the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical and control systems, including HV and LV systems, instrumentation, and DCS.
  2. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and control systems, including testing and inspection of equipment.
  3. Assist in the coordination of mechanical maintenance activities and assist other disciplines during planned or unplanned shutdowns.
  4. Investigate and rectify electrical and control system faults, minimizing plant downtime.
  5. Recommend plant spares holdings to the Maintenance Manager.
  6. Assist in managing statutory inspections, ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date.
  7. Support the wider maintenance department and site teams as situations dictate.
  8. Ensure all electrical and control equipment is correctly operated, maintained, and tested.
  9. Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule and report any irregularities.
  10. Interact with Operations personnel regarding fault finding, testing, modification to process equipment, updating of drawings, and defect rectification.
  11. Liaise with contractors as needed.
  12. Assist with stores and stock control.
  13. Set up service contracts.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive operations experience in the power generation sector, including Energy from Waste, CCGT, Oil, Coal, or Biomass.
  2. Proven ability to work in demanding and dynamic environments, with a strong focus on safety and reliability.
  3. Knowledge of relevant facility consents, H&S legislation, safe working environments, safety rules, and outages.
