Job Title: Biology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Biology Graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties and potentially becoming a trainee Biology teacher in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning difficulties in a secondary school environment
  • Work closely with the class teacher and students during lessons
  • Build a rapport with students and implement strategies to support, nurture, and engage them in their secondary years
  • Provide 1:1 Biology tuition sessions and run intervention groups in your subject area

What We Offer:

  • Training, guidance, and support from experienced consultants and the school's Training and Development Team
  • A programme of FREE Training and CPD sessions
  • Support from the school's SEN Department, including the SENCO, HLTAs, Pastoral Staff, and Class Teachers
  • Resources and strategies to support learners, behavior management training, and group and 1:1 training from qualified staff

Requirements:

  • Biology degree and good grades at GCSE, A level
  • Good communication skills and dedication
  • Ability to work with students of various age and abilities

Working Hours and Pay:

Full-time school hours, 8m - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will be required to run an after-school club once a week until 4.30pm and attend a departmental meeting once a week. The role is paid hourly at GBP13 per hour and can become a permanent post in the future.
