This position involves conducting regular monitoring of surface and airborne contamination to manage radiological and beryllium risks, along with offering guidance and oversight during incidents.

As a Health Physics Technician, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Establishing work environments with the correct designations for radiological and beryllium hazards, ensuring that control measures are effectively implemented.
  • Advising and assisting Responsible Officers in the setup of controlled areas for radiological and beryllium operations.
  • Managing the collection and analysis of stack discharge samples for various contaminants.
  • Conducting audits of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) radiography operations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Preparing and analyzing samples for laboratory evaluations.
  • Completing documentation and recording forms related to material transfers.

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following:

  • Formal qualifications in radiation safety.
  • Recent experience in operational radiological protection and a solid understanding of Ionising Radiation Regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication regarding radiological and beryllium hazards.
