About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our team at Asda. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in driving our transformation journey and supporting our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Lead on major business investments and executive priorities within the procurement function.
  • Contribute to our cost and cash programme, leveraging data and analytics to inform procurement decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in procurement or category management, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience in marketing, print, point of sale, and procurement would be an asset.
