Role Overview:

Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a dedicated Hospital Porter to serve as the initial point of contact for patients, visitors, and caregivers. This position requires a background in hospitality to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and to assist with various duties throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transfers patients between different areas of the hospital, maintaining their dignity and comfort.
  • Fosters a friendly environment by demonstrating empathy and teamwork.
  • Assists in the management and transportation of medical gas cylinders following established protocols.
  • Operates the hospital's mailroom and ensures timely postal services for patients and caregivers.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures while attending mandatory training sessions.
  • Guides patients to their rooms and other locations, providing information about hospital services and facilities.
  • Utilizes beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers for patient transfers and aids in the safe handling of luggage and medical equipment.
  • Manages visitor check-ins and coordinates their arrival while answering calls and taking clear messages.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a hospitality environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience in a supportive role assisting patients or visitors.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A valid driving license is preferred.
  • A compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy, and integrity.
  • Strong punctuality, accountability, and reliability.
