Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at RBW Consulting. As a key member of our Automation Team, you will play a vital role in managing and coordinating responses to breakdowns in our manufacturing facility and laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues with control systems, including IMS, DeltaV, SCADA platforms, and current PLC/DCS systems and wiring.
  • Calibration Management: Oversee the adjustment and calibration of instruments within manufacturing and laboratory systems.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with equipment vendors and contractors to resolve startup issues and ensure compliance with established schedules.
  • System Development: Design and document new control systems from initial concept to final qualification, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and address process control issues to enhance system performance, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Configuration Control: Maintain and manage the configuration of existing PLC/DCS source code, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Operational Support: Provide engineering support for control systems during plant operations and production downtime, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all instrument calibrations adhere to established schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Conduct tasks and maintain records in compliance with GMP, regulatory, and quality standards, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Supervision: Oversee external vendor/contractor activities to ensure they meet defined requirements and standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of an HND or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with PLC/DCS, and Control System Platforms (SCADA, Building Management Systems BMS, Wonderware/Aveva).
  • Computer Proficiency: Knowledge of Windows Servers and advanced computer technology.
  • Control Systems Knowledge: Understanding of PID control, feedback control, and system dynamics.
  • Team Leadership: Strong abilities in teamwork, motivating, leading, and managing teams and projects.
  • Regulatory Experience: Previous experience working in a regulated environment.
