Computer Science Educator
Location: York, North Yorkshire

Salary: MPS/UPS: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time

GSL Education is in search of a committed and qualified Computer Science Educator to join a dynamic Secondary School in York. We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers as well.

Key Responsibilities of the Computer Science Educator:

  • Developing educational materials, crafting engaging activities and assessments, ensuring alignment with curriculum goals.
  • In addition to theoretical instruction, you will assist students in honing practical skills pertinent to computer science.
  • Creating and refining the computer science curriculum, ensuring it meets national or state standards and aligns with the educational goals of the institution.
  • Conducting regular assessments to evaluate students' comprehension through tests, projects, and assignments.
  • Recognizing the diverse learning needs and abilities of students; adapting teaching methods to accommodate a wide range of learners.
  • Collaborating with fellow computer science educators and staff to share resources, exchange ideas, and synchronize teaching methodologies.

Ideal Qualifications for the Computer Science Educator:

  • Possess UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) along with a relevant degree.
  • Have recent experience in teaching GCSE Computer Science.
  • Act as a subject ambassador, fostering engagement within the department and the broader school community.
  • Provide two teaching references from the past two years.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please note: This position necessitates a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols. Successful candidates must complete all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
