We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at People Source Consulting Ltd trading as Experis. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and engineering support of mechanical life-saving survival equipment and other products.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical products that meet customer requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met and products are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings, documents, and reports to ensure compliance with company procedures and quality systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support to sales, marketing, manufacturing, and quality teams as needed.
- Assist in the development of new product concepts, plans, and specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
- Knowledge of plastics, sheet metal, and castings type environments to IP68 and impact/crush testing.
- Experience with design life cycle (concept to production) within an ISO9001 or similar quality environment.
- High and low volume design experience for commercial and leisure markets.
- Engineering drawing change control and process experience.
- Design of production assembly and test fixtures experience.
- Experience with product type approval to international standards.
- Knowledge and experience of ultra-sonic welding of plastic materials.
- Experience in the use of model shop equipment, such as milling machines and lathes.
- Experience in marine, aviation, and nav/comms industries.
- 3D/2D CAD (Solidworks) skills.
- FEA/FEM/Stress Analysis experience.
- PDM/PLM software experience.
- Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Publisher).
