Junior Design Engineer Role

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Junior Design Engineer.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of product design and development, process design, and testing.

The Junior Design Engineer will be involved in training and communicating with production teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
  2. Participate in product design and development activities
  3. Design and develop processes, and conduct testing and stress testing
  4. Utilise Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential product issues
  5. Train production teams on new products and processes
  6. Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures
  7. Communicate effectively with suppliers
  8. Review process sheets and maintain updated records
  9. Ensure compliance with 5S and health and safety standards
  10. Provide constructive input and encourage idea sharing among colleagues
  11. Support and inspire colleagues to perform at their best
  12. Prioritise workload effectively and maintain punctuality and good timekeeping
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  2. Prior experience in product design and development
  3. Familiarity with process design and costing
  4. Strong understanding of testing and stress testing
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers
  6. Knowledge of health and safety requirements and compliance
  7. Proven ability to train and support production teams
  8. Detail-oriented and able to prioritise workload effectively
  9. Excellent communication and time management skills
