ROLE OVERVIEW


The incumbent will operate at a professional level, primarily focusing on facilitating research initiatives, project execution, and the upkeep of specialized equipment, while emphasizing adherence to best practices and safety protocols.

Leveraging specialized expertise, the role holder will effectively achieve outcomes that support educational, training, and enterprise activities, integrating innovative methodologies as necessary.

This position is part-time, requiring a commitment of 22.2 hours per week, specifically on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, following the faculty's flexible working system.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Northumbria Microscopy Laboratory.

Extensive knowledge and proficiency in the following areas are essential:

  • Bioimaging techniques, including bright field, wide field, fluorescence, laser scanning confocal, and laser capture microscopy.
  • Bioanalysis methodologies, particularly flow cytometry.
