Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Boston Hale as a Category Manager, charged with delivering significant business benefits across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be MCIPS qualified or working towards it with demonstrable public contracts regulations knowledge. A successful track record of delivering outstanding value, together with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, are all essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development, procurement, and implementation of category strategies to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Developing and executing effective routes to market to ensure contracts awarded deliver value for money and meet business objectives.
  • Conducting extensive market research and analysis to inform procurement decisions and drive category development.
  • Building and maintaining successful supply chain relationships to drive collaboration and innovation.

You will need to possess:

  • Previous public contracts regulations experience and applying to the management of end-to-end procurement activity.
  • Experience of delivering high-value complex procurement solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to prepare detailed framework, tender, and contract documentation and reports that meet business requirements.
  • Knowledge of and experience of drawing up contracts that meet regulatory requirements.
  • CIPS (ideally MCIPS) qualification or studying towards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others across the business and have excellent communication skills to drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial and financial acumen, and articulate the benefits of defined procurement processes to stakeholders.
