Senior Data Platform Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team at Burns Sheehan. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and scaling our data platform, which supports both our product and machine learning teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain a scalable data platform that serves both the product team and machine learning team.
  • Build and manage a robust relational database system that supports efficient storage, retrieval, and structuring of large-scale datasets.
  • Develop and maintain backend systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the platform's growing demands.
  • Collaborate with the machine learning team to design data stores optimized for feature extraction and data processing, ensuring seamless access to data.
  • Utilize AWS services to ensure cloud scalability, data storage, and compute optimization.
Requirements:
  • Experience designing and managing large-scale data platforms.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases for handling unstructured data and scaling database operations.
  • AWS knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of data architectures, ETL pipelines, and database design principles.
  • Experience with Python & Python libraries such as Pandas or Spark.
  • Experience with backend development frameworks for building RESTful APIs such as Django, and FastAPI.
