We are seeking Patient Care Assistants to become part of our dynamic team in the Acute Medical Unit. This is a high-energy, 30-bed ward that receives patients directly from emergency services and general practitioners. Additionally, you will have the chance to engage in our specialized ambulatory and assessment area, where you can acquire further clinical skills, including venepuncture and cannulation.
We are hiring Band 2 Patient Care Assistants for training positions, which, upon successful completion of our in-house training, will allow you to advance to a Band 3 role. Current Band 3 staff are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidates will collaborate closely with the Senior Charge Nurse and Band 6 Charge Nurses, establishing strong professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for individuals who possess the ability to provide the highest standard of comprehensive care to our patients and their families.
As a cohesive team, we believe that the wellbeing and development of our staff are crucial for delivering exceptional patient care. A position in our Medical department will offer you opportunities for personal and professional growth through peer support, structured education, and training, all while being guided by our Clinical Educator.
This position does not qualify for Home Office Sponsorship/Skilled Worker Visa.
Note: NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours from 1 April 2024, with no change in remuneration. This reduction will also apply pro rata for part-time staff. However, some service areas may not immediately implement the new working hours, and you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, for which you will be compensated until the service adjusts its rosters.
